Forgot to add, that its got so bad that even a few people on here could IMHO pick a better / more effective side than Uncle Woy.

The problem would be that the players would be laughing at what we said in front of our faces as opposed to be behind our backs :)

Re: England vs Norway tonight
One thing that continues to be a blind spot is Rooney. He is England's equivalent of Nolan for West Ham.

As Scholes said before the WC, his best days are behind him. He needs to be retired from international duty but has been guaranteed a starting place through the Euros and beyond by a man who's age and experience from yesteryear may well be clouding his judgement. Of course Woy could just be non confrontational and needs to grow some bollox :)

Otherwise, another issue is the back four. Only Cahill looks capable and Stones possibly could do a job. We are vulnerable to any half decent attacking team. Baines is not up to it and Jones etc... only get in because of who they play for (the formula used by all England managers for 40 years).

In short, little chance of change for another 2 - 4 years.

Last one out, turn off the lights.

Re: England vs Norway tonight
Cahill for me is an accident waiting to happen at international level. Solid enough at club level but he always seems to make at least one major blunder playing for England, usually when he tries to get a bit clever

Horrible game to watch against an awful side, sterling the only stand out

Caps should be restated to only include competitive starts

James Milner overtook Trevor Brooking in the Caps stakes last night. Say it all about the quality of England players these days!!

You can't drop wanker after he scored a magnificent solo effort after Sterling tripped over at the right time.

Only addition if he ever gets fit Walcott. I think we need a manger who understands motivation.

Re: England vs Norway tonight
When will England start getting better players base on the massive investment in the St George's Park training & development complex...

Cost 105million to build...mostly funded by Nike...England team sponsorship...

Does anyone have any clues as to any benefits or improvements in the England setup due to St George's...???

Seems to me that any potential benefits of St George's has been negated by the Premier League's increasing number of Foreigners ...thus holding back the development of more quality English players...

Shot in the Foot by The Prem...yet again...!!!

This England team's performance on the pitch totally reflects the manager...Hodgson...

Slow...Ponderous...Unimaginative...Uninspiring...Sideways Movements...No Bite or Urgency...Predictable...Little Creativity...Quasi Moribund...Lifeless Old Fart...

Sowwy Woy...but you really should be in a Bungalow in Sussex on Sea...

Just read this on ESPN

"Six of the last seven Johnstone's Paint Trophy finals have been better attended"

the report says the game was dull and uninspiring.

Early days but no lessons learned AGAIN from a WC humiliation.

Re: England vs Norway tonight
Fucking Hell, i had forgotten we were playing.

Now that is Sad, as a boy an England game would have been looked forward too weeks in advance.

Record low attendance, maybe says a lot as well.

Re: England vs Norway tonight
I'm not saying I agree with all his choices (I'm not sure what Forster needs to do to get a start even in a friendly, shawcross, huddlestone, Curtis Davies all deserved a chance in these two games based in the last 12 months and how that ginger northern numpty who turned us down got in the squad I'll never know) but I don't think there's much to choose between a lot if England's players. I don't like the favouring if big clubs or that a youngster only has to make 2 good performances to get called up, but I think you have to go back 20 odd years to find a group of English players so mediocre

sniper, clyne at Southampton's played well for the last couple of seasons yet the owl cunt decides stones is better than him at right back, and calum chambers deserves a call up despite not even playing thirty senior games yet. im not slagging him off just for the sake of it, the fella is fucking clueless

Re: England vs Norway tonight
I don't get why woy gets blamed. Look at what he's got to pick from compared to orevious managers.

I do feel a bit sorry for him. Sven had Ferdinand, terry, Campbell, ashley and joe cole, Gary Neville, beckham , Gerrard, lampard Hargreaves and unbroken Owen all at their peak. Hodgson has Cahill, jagielka, smalling, Baines, Milner, Phil jones, Henderson, the Ox, cleverly, broken smoking Wilshere and Danny wellbeck. He doesn't really stand a chance!

Re: England vs Norway tonight
What were the attemdances across Europe at friendlies compared to England's 40,000?
As Sam Wallace of the Independent pointed out the handwringing over England's attendance is only relative and noteworthy because the support has been so phenomenal previously.
Still miles ahead of most nations I'd WAGER

Dont think Norway have ever thought they were the best and that famous rant was because it was such an achievement to beat England.
Can recall they were competent but sooo dull a few years ago but now they are at a pretty low ebb.
Am of the mind that friendlies are pointless and it would increase the excitement of competitive games if that was the only time England (& any other country) played.
I know its about money and paying for the pointless Wembley (it should have been knocked down the first time and not rebuilt) but playing competitive games only and all over the country would be preferable.

Re: England vs Norway tonight
BBC Report...

Underwhelming England win...

40,181 lowest attendance at New Wembley.

63% Possession...

14 Goal Attempts...

2 on target...(one was a penalty)...

Hardly International Class stats against a 53rd FIFA rated Norway...

FA should have replaced Hodgson after the World Cup slow motion debacle...

Instead they gave him a vote of confidence...so it's more of the same ...

England is now rated 20th...behind Football Super-Powers...Greece...Costa Rica...Bosnia...

Won't get much joy out of Switzerland...

..

Well I for one am glad we won, so I don't have to hear all the Noggies bang on about how they are best in the world.

"Sir Vinston Churchill, Clement Atlee, Lord Mountbatten, Lily Savage, Jimmy Saville, David Cameron! David Cameron! Kan you hear me? Kan you hear me, David Cameron? Your boys took a hell of a beating!"

Now I can tell them to stick to skiing, the bunch of snow wogs.
